JUDO: EGGER GOES FOR GOLD IN HAMBURG
Outstanding performance for the Swiss national team during the European Cup in Hamburg: Four of the Swiss athletes won medals, placing Switzerland 2nd in the men’s nation ranking. Highlight of the tournament was Micha Egger who carried off the gold medal in the -81kg category by winning six straight fights and conquering both opponents and audience. Ludovic Chammartin reached a silver medal in the -60kg category, and Martin Nietlispach (-73kg) and Dominique Hischier (-90kg) both won their fights for bronze.
These results are solid evidence that the efforts invested by athletes and trainers over the past year are really starting to pay off. The European Cup in Hamburg is the last of the competitions in the run-ups to the World Championships that will take place in Tokyo from September 9-13.

Weitere Ergebnisse: Ludovic Chammartin (-60kg): 2. Platz, Martin Nietlispach (-73kg): 3. Platz, Dominique Hischier (-90kg): 3. Platz.
